Spinal Decompression Therapy

The doctors at Catalina Medical Center heal patients dealing with problematic spinal discs using spinal decompression therapy.  Non-surgical spinal decompression therapy is a safe, targeted treatment for any discs wreaking havoc on a patient’s spine or nerves.  Injured discs in the neck and back cause pain, but can also affect the rest of the body.  Herniated discs often have direct impact on the central nervous system, causing more pain to the extremities.  Our doctors can determine if spinal decompression is appropriate for your issue. Spinal decompression is performed with equipment that resembles a table but has moving parts.  Depending on the location of the issue, patients lie on their back or stomach, and are attached to the equipment with padded straps so distraction forces can be applied to the spine.  The treatment alternates between applying distraction forces to the vertebrae and periods of partial relaxation.  The result is the vertebrae slowly and gently separating from e

Chiropractic Massage Therapy

We’ve all seen massage advertised by spas as an indulgence or pampering, but the long-practiced therapy has many health benefits and has helped many patients of the Catalina Medical Center heal.  Combining chiropractic treatment with massage therapy helps improve a patient’s overall musculoskeletal health and functionality. Your First Visit to Our Office

At Catalina Medical Center, a patient’s first visit will involve a few special steps so that we can get to know you and your lifestyle habits. In addition to filling out new patient forms, the most important part of your appointment will be your chiropractic examination from one of our doctors. An initial chiropractic exam will typically have three parts – a consultation, case history, and a physical examination. During the consultation, you will meet with one of our doctors to discuss your duration and frequency of symptoms, as well as your areas of pain and what makes the pain feel better or worse. Your case history will include questions about your family health problems, dietary habits, past history of other treatments and occupational history. Once our doctor is able to provide you with a diagnosis, a treatment plan will be developed from there. Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the doctor has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care
